about

"Both songs highlight Debique's voice in a way like the honest reckoning found in the 70s oeuvre of 60s psych rock gods, circa solo Arthur Lee's Vindicator era" -- Impose Magazine

Under the streets of Seattle, in the dimly lit rooms of Crybaby Studios, Kirt, Sam, Gus, and Sean were drinking beer and talking music. Kirt began singing the melody and lyrics to a song he'd been working on called Unforgiven, and Sam started improvising an accompaniment on the old, slightly out of tune upright piano in the corner. Thus, Smile Machine was born. Maybe Tomorrow is the second release from Smile Machine. It is a balance of the crafted and the improvised, the playful and the intense.
